Auxiliary Objectives for ultraVU Zoom Lenses

These objectives are specially made very high quality optical accessories for ultraVU high magnification zoom lenses. Their function is to change the zoom magnification range of the main lens, they also change the working distance.
For example if you attach a 0.5X auxiliary objective to an ultraVU-MTPro zoom lens the 'nominal' zoom magnification range changes from 0.7X-5X to 0.35X-2.5X** and the working distance* from 87mm to 188mm. So multiply the zoom magnification by the auxiliary objective magnification to get the resulting nominal magnification.

The auxiliary objectives are similar to microscope objectives but are more particularly suited for use with the ultraVUs with optimised and matched optical performance and are often very much lower cost than the equivalent microscope objective.  They also fit perfectly with no need for adapters and are a more compact in design.

** Magnifications
The actual magnifications on the each of the zoom lenses is about 8X higher than that shown on the zoom dial, so we normally refer to the much more useful 'fields of view' rather than 'magnifications' for clarity - see ultraVU lens for further explanation

*Working Distance
This is the distance from the bottom of the lens (housing) to the point on the subject that is in focus. This can be made longer by adding a reducing magnification auxiliary objective (0.3X or 0.5X) or made shorter by adding a high magnification (1.5X, 2X or 4.5X) auxiliary objective.
